SBI Chief Manager slapped by Senior Officer for leaving early to celebrate child’s birthday
A shocking news has been reported from India’s Largest Bank – State Bank of India (SBI) in Junagadh Gujarat.
A senior SBI officer in Junagadh city has been accused of threatening to kill an employee. The complaint has been filed against SBI Office Head Sudhir Sharma, who is posted at the SBI office near Bhadadheen College.
The complaint was lodged by Chief Manager Ravindra Dharmanath Prasad. According to the complaint, after returning to the office upon completing a leave period, the Chief Manager was allegedly subjected to misconduct by other employees.

The manager had requested permission to leave early because it was his son’s birthday. An argument reportedly broke out with a senior officer over the matter. The senior officer became angry over this and slapped the Chief Manager in public.
At the Junagadh A-Division Police Station, senior officials reportedly held discussions and tried to persuade the complainant until around 11:45 PM. However, the Chief Manager remained firm on his complaint.
It is also alleged that he was threatened with death. Following the incident, a large number of SBI employees reached the police station. The police have started a further investigation into the matter. More details will be released soon.
This incident has once again raised the issue of toxic work culture in Banks. Can’t a bank employee take holiday or leave early to celebrate his child’s birthday? The bank and government must look into this and the work culture of banks must be improved.
