UFBU CLC Meeting 9 September 2026

A conciliation meeting was scheduled between UFBU and CLC on September 8, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Conference Room of Shramev Jayate Bhawan, Sector 10, Dwarka, New Delhi. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the All India Strike announced by UFBU on 11 September 2026 demanding introduction of 5-day Banking and cancellation of new PLI scheme.

The Government was not in favour of 5-day banking and thus the meeting will again be conducted today i.e.9th September 2026.

8 Sep Meeting: UFBU has denied to accept the request of Government. UFBU has clearly said that strike will not be deferred until the promise of 5-day Banking is fulfilled.

8 Sep Meeting: DFS said 50% of the demands of the UFBU have been accepted so UFBU should defer the strike. 5-day banking may take more time as various stakeholders are involved in it.

8 Sep Meeting: The Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) appealed to unions to reconsider the strike call. IBA said the Government’s PLI Scheme circular was a positive step. On 5-day banking, IBA said the issue is still under consideration and urged unions to avoid the strike.
