UFBU has announced All India Strike on 11 September 2026. Recently, NOBO and NOBW (affiliated to BMS) were removed from UFBU. NOBO and NOBW have decided to stay away from strike on 11 September 2026.
Today in a meeting with FM Sitharaman, BMS raised following issues:
Non-Uniform PLI: PLI should be framed uniformly so that the share of profits as PLI can be distributed among all the workforce. The existing PLI is discriminatory and the arrears of disbursement of PLI for the FY 2025-26 should be deferred until the new structure for payment of PLI is decided.
Implementation of 5 day banking: It has been a long-pending demand of banking workers and has been accepted by the IBA. You are humbly requested to initiate implementation of the same at the earliest possible.
Transfer Policy: Uniform and Transparent Transfer Policy and restrict the number of office bearers given protection from transfers in majority unions. Office bearers from minority unions must also be protected from transfers proportionally.
Review of Ex-Gratia for Bank Pensioners: On your instructions the 12th Bipartite Settlement/9th Joint Note adopted on 08 March 2024, precisely noted that Ex-gratia must be reviewed every year. Unfortunately it has not been reviewed ever since. We humbly request you to kindly issue appropriate instructions in this regard.
Pension Updation: This issue has been pending for resolution for a very long time, even though provisions exist and the government is also issuing huge funds under GHI.
Medical Insurance for Bank Pensioners: The Premium of the medical insurance should be borne by respective banks.
