The Global Fintech Fest (GFF) is the world’s largest annual gathering dedicated to fintech and the wider financial services ecosystem, with participation from more than 80 countries. It brings together policymakers, regulators, central bankers, financial institutions, technology leaders, fintech entrepreneurs, investors, academics and thought leaders to engage on the opportunities, challenges and structural shifts shaping the future of finance. GFF serves as a global platform for advancing policy dialogue, showcasing innovation, enabling cross-border partnerships and driving collaboration at the intersection of finance, technology and public policy.

GFF was held for the first time in 2020 and has grown into one of the world’s leading fintech gatherings.

Who organises Global Fintech Fest?

The Global Fintech Fest is organised by the Payments Council of India (PCI), the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC).GFF 2026 is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY); Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance; New, Emerging and Strategic Technology (NEST) Division, Ministry of External Affairs; NITI Aayog; Reserve Bank of India (RBI); Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI); International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA); and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

What is the purpose of Global Fintech Fest?

The Global Fintech Fest (GFF) was created as a platform where policymakers, regulators, banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, and global experts can come together to discuss and shape the future of digital finance.

The main aim of GFF is to promote cooperation instead of competition, encourage discussions on financial policies, and support responsible innovation in the fintech sector.GFF also focuses on connecting global ideas with practical solutions. It aims to ensure that new financial technologies and fintech policies help increase financial inclusion, make the financial system stronger, and support sustainable economic growth.

The 7th Global Fintech Fest 2026 is far more than a conference. It is the world’s largest fintech festival, uniting the brightest minds to shape an AI-powered future.

The theme of GFF 2026 is “Potential to Impact: Agentic AI | Tokenisation | Quantum: Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance.”

Why India is focusing on Fintech?

India has become one of the world’s leading and fastest-growing fintech and digital infrastructure ecosystems. The country has built large digital platforms for online payments, digital identity, data sharing with user consent, and government services.

FinTech has played a key role in making the financial sector more efficient. For example, UPI, recognised by the IMF as the world’s largest real-time payment system, processed 2,365.8 crore transactions worth ₹29.88 lakh crore in July 2026 alone, with 741 banks live on the platform – transaction volumes have grown nearly 12,000-fold since FY 2016–17.
