According to the woman, who is originally from Sultanpur, she started working at the bank in 2020. During this time, she became friends with Sumit Yadav, a resident of Kasimabad in Ghazipur district. Their friendship soon turned into a romantic relationship.

Sumit allegedly promised to marry her, and the couple even started living together in a rented house in Chinhat, Lucknow, as husband and wife. During this period, she says she was sexually involved with him, trusting his commitment to marry her.
