Bank Employee attacked during Loan Recovery in UP

An incident of attack on Bank employee has been reported in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

An assistant manager of Kotak Mahindra Bank was attacked during a loan recovery in the Pipraich area. The customer called him to his home on the pretext of repaying his outstanding loan and beat him with sticks.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against the accused under various sections and have begun an investigation.

Dhananjay Pratap Singh, assistant manager of Kotak Mahindra Bank, told police that he lives and works at the Basharatpur Aluminum Factory, near Hardhwa Phatak Road.

On April 13, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m., bank customer Krishna Yadav, a resident of village Maharaji, Pipraich police station, invited him to his home on the pretext of repaying an outstanding loan.

It is alleged that as soon as the officer arrived, Krishna Yadav used abusive language and attacked him with sticks.

The bank official suffered serious injuries in the attack. The victim said that he has recording of the incident and Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. A detailed investigation into the incident is underway.

In this regard, Police Station in-charge Atul Kumar Srivastava said that an FIR has been registered in the case and legal action is being taken.
