PNB Female Officer threatened with Acid Attack by Customer

A shocking and shameful incident has been reported in Punjab National Bank in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.

A woman bank officer posted in Azamgarh was threatened with acid by a bank customer when she refused to comply. The bank officer’s maternal grandfather, a resident of Panchavati, filed a report at the Rawatpur police station.

She is employed as an Agriculture Officer at the Lalganj branch of Punjab National Bank in Azamgarh. It is alleged that a person named Abhay Singh Sengar has been continuously harassing her on the mobile phone.

He has been threatening to kill her, throw acid on her, and defame her if she does not talk to him. It is alleged that on the night of April 22nd, he sent her a total of 63 thousand rupees in two installments via mobile.

In the morning, she returned the entire amount and asked him not to repeat such behavior in the future. This enraged him, who then began abusing and threatening her. Rawatpur Inspector Kamlesh Rai said a report has been filed against the accused and he is being searched for.

The case is very serious and related to the dignity of women. The Police should deal with the case very strictly to avoid any unforeseen situation.

In 2024, a female bank manager working at Bank of Baroda fell victim to a horrifying acid attack. She was stationed as the manager at the Syed Sarawa branch of Bank of Baroda, located in the Kaushambi district near Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The attack was a result of her issuing a recovery notice against the village head (प्रधान) who had connections to the notorious Atiq Ahmed, a prominent figure in the local mafia.
