Court orders Police to File Case against Individuals who assaulted Bank of Baroda Contractual Employee Near Kanpur
Fatehpur: Acting on a court order, the police have registered a case against three identified individuals and two unidentified persons for allegedly assaulting and robbing a contractual employee of the Bank of Baroda.
The victim, Pushpendra Kumar, a resident of Chak Korra Sadat under the Thariyanv police station area, works in the loan department of the Bank of Baroda in Vijaypur. According to Pushpendra, the incident stemmed from a dispute over a loan application.
Loan Rejection Sparks Dispute
Pushpendra reported that two applicants, Manish Kumar and Kuldeep Kumar, both residents of Sangaon, had applied for a loan that was ultimately rejected. The duo allegedly blamed him for unnecessary delays and file-related expenses. They reportedly began pressuring Pushpendra to pay ₹2 lakh as compensation.
Robbery and Assault on October 23
On October 23, around 8:30 PM, Pushpendra was returning home on his bike with his friend Gyanendra Kumar. When they reached the Chak Korra Sadat turn on the Thariyanv-Asauthar road, they were ambushed by the accused—Manish Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, and two others.
The attackers reportedly used sticks to threaten and assault Pushpendra and Gyanendra. They then robbed ₹30,000 in cash, a gold chain, and Pushpendra’s motorcycle. Both victims suffered physical injuries during the attack.
Police Action After Court’s Direction
Despite lodging a complaint at the Thariyanv police station, no action was initially taken. Pushpendra later sought justice through the court. Following the court’s intervention, the police have now registered a case under robbery and other relevant sections.
Thariyanv police station in-charge, Arvind Rai, confirmed the registration of the case and assured that investigations are ongoing. Further developments in the case are awaited.
