A 22-year-old man, identified as Bholu, was found dead on the roof of the second floor of a building housing a State Bank of India (SBI) branch on Kila Parikshitgarh Road in Meerut on Monday evening. The incident falls under the Bhawanpur police station area. After receiving information, police reached the spot, sent the body for post-mortem examination, and started an investigation.
Family Alleges Murder
According to police, Raja, who lives on the second floor of the SBI building with his family and works as a labourer, returned home around 6 PM and found Bholu’s body on the roof. He immediately informed Bholu’s father, Rajendra. Soon, Bholu’s parents and brothers reached the spot.
Bholu was a resident of Mohalla Ahmadpura on Rali Chauhan Marg and worked as a shuttlecock maker. Seeing his body, the family broke down in grief. His mother, Rajendri, alleged that her son had been murdered and demanded a proper investigation.
Police Recover Liquor Bottles and Other Items
During the investigation, the Bhawanpur police and a forensic team examined the scene. They recovered a plastic bottle, two glasses, some liquor pouches, and one shoe belonging to the deceased from the roof. All these items have been seized and sent for forensic examination.
Police Waiting for Post-Mortem Report
CO (Sadar Dehat) Sudhir Singh said that no visible injury marks were found on Bholu’s body during the initial examination. He said the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report. Police added that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem findings and the complaint filed by the family. As of Monday night, the family had not submitted a formal complaint, and the investigation is continuing.
