Theft Attempt at HDFC Bank in Rohtak Caught on CCTV, Police Start Investigation

Late at night, two youths tried to steal money by breaking through a wall at the HDFC Bank branch located on Hisar Road in Gaddi Kheri village, Rohtak. The entire incident was recorded on a CCTV camera installed at the bank. After the incident, the bank manager informed the police. Acting on the information, police from Bahu Akbarpur police station reached the spot, collected the CCTV footage, and started an investigation.

Bank employee Amit Narwal said that he works at the HDFC Bank branch in Gaddi Kheri village on Hisar Road. When he reached the bank around 9:15 AM, he found that someone had tried to break the rear wall of the building. After noticing this, the matter was reported to the police, who arrived at the scene and began their inquiry.

Bank Manager Somvir Mann said that an almirah (cabinet) was placed in the storeroom next to the wall that the accused tried to break. The storeroom is located just behind the bank’s rear wall. The accused managed to make a hole about half a foot deep in the wall.

Somvir Mann further said that CCTV footage from outside the bank showed two youths roaming near the ATM. One of them was carrying a tool used for breaking walls. He also tried to force open the bank’s main door. When they failed to open the door, they started trying to break the rear wall instead.

The SHO of Bahu Akbarpur police station confirmed that the police received information about an attempt to break into the bank through the wall. After getting the information, the police reached the spot and started an investigation. A hole around half a foot deep was found in the wall. The police have taken the CCTV footage into custody and are investigating the matter.

The cases of Robberies in Banks have increased a lot. Banks need to increase the safety of their branches.
