Thieves attempted to rob the Central Bank of India branch located at Barai Square in Gwalior’s Panihar police station area on Saturday-Sunday night. The thieves attempted to break the wall, but were not successful.
Based on the bank manager’s complaint, the police have registered a case and began searching for the accused based on CCTV footage.
Abha Kulshrestha, wife of Diwakar Kulshrestha, manager of the Barai, Bhekanpur branch of Central Bank of India, had gone home after locking the bank as usual after finishing her work.
On Sunday morning, she was informed that the wall at the back of the bank was broken. After this, she reached the bank and when she went inside, she found the wall broken.
Seeing the broken wall, the bank management came to know about the burglary. After this, the Panihar police station was immediately informed. The police team reached the spot, inspected the bank and collected evidence.
Initial police investigations revealed that the thieves had targeted the back wall of the bank but could not break it. This prevented the cash and jewelry stored in the bank from being stolen.
After receiving information about the incident, forensic teams and local police investigated the bank premises and the surrounding area. Footage from CCTV cameras installed around the bank and at Barai intersection is being examined to identify those involved in suspicious activity at night.
