The Punjab National Bank Officers’ Association (PNBOA), Uttar Pradesh, has announced a peaceful demonstration at the PNB Circle Office in Jhansi on 3 August 2026 at 5:00 PM. The association has issued an official notice to the Circle Head of Punjab National Bank, stating that the protest is being organised because the grievances of Ms. Divya Jaiswal, Senior Manager, remain unresolved despite repeated representations. The peaceful demonstration will be held on Monday, 3 August 2026, at 5:00 PM outside the Punjab National Bank Circle Office in Jhansi.
According to the notice dated 28 July 2026, the association referred to its earlier representation submitted on 5 July 2026. In that representation, PNBOA had requested the bank management to conduct a fair inquiry into the matter related to Ms. Divya Jaiswal and take appropriate corrective action, but no action was taken.
What is the case of Divya Jaiswal?
Divya Jaiswal is a senior manager, currently posted at Jhansi Circle in PNB, and is a resident of Chitrakoot. As per reports, the Circle Head has abruptly transferred her 180 km away to a rural branch from Jhansi city, where no woman employee has ever been posted. The association says that she has been targeted because she raised her voice regarding her deputation allowance.
As per the documents accessed by the HelloBanker team, Divya has filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission and the Head Office of Punjab National Bank. She joined Punjab National Bank in 2016 as a Probationary Officer (PO)/Management Trainee (MT). She has been serving as a Branch Head since 2020 and was posted as the Branch Head of the DBU Branch, Jhansi, on 26 August 2025. She has now been transferred to the Madawara Branch, which is around 550 km from her hometown.
According to her complaint, her mother’s health is not good and she has suffered two cardiac arrests. Because of her mother’s medical condition, Divya requested the Circle Head to transfer her to a nearby branch, but she alleges that no action has been taken on her request. She also stated that she has not yet completed one year at her current posting in the DBU Branch, Jhansi. According to PNB’s transfer guidelines, employees should not be transferred before completing one year at a posting except in exceptional circumstances.
She alleged that she was temporarily transferred from Mahoba to RSETI Jhansi for 11 months, while her permanent posting remained at Mahoba, forcing her to travel about 160 km. She claimed this temporary posting was made without obtaining prior approval from the Head Office, which was required under the rules.
She was transferred again within two months, first to Circle Office Jhansi on 16 July 2025 and later to the DBU Branch from 1 September 2025, resulting in frequent transfers. She alleged that when she claimed TA (Travelling Allowance) for her temporary posting, HRD officials threatened her, saying, “We will take action if you demand temporary posting allowances and TA.”
She alleged that she was issued a formal letter for non-reporting during her sick leave on 3 June, even though she had submitted a leave application along with a valid medical prescription. Administrative officials contacted her doctor directly and made derogatory remarks about her.
The association has requested the bank management to look into the issue and resolve it amicably; otherwise, the association will be forced to conduct a protest on 3rd August.
