Bank of Baroda Officers Seek Removal of General Secretary Over Strike Withdrawal Decision
Members of the All India Bank of Baroda Officers’ Association (AIBOBOA) have submitted a representation seeking action against Shri Prem Kumar Makker, General Secretary of AIBOBOA, and other office-bearers who supported deferment of strike.
The members have questioned the manner in which such an important decision was taken and have called for greater consultation, transparency and consideration of the views and expectations of the membership.
The representation asks the competent authority of AIBOBOA to examine the circumstances under which the UFBU communication regarding the cancellation or withdrawal of the strike was signed. It also requests that the matter be placed before the appropriate constitutional body of the association for consideration and that it be examined whether the decision was consistent with the association’s Constitution, rules and established decision-making procedures.
The members have also requested that Shri Prem Kumar Makker and other office-bearers be considered for removal from their respective positions if the competent body finds that their actions violated the association’s rules, mandate or the interests of its members.
Another major demand in the representation is for a fresh election of the concerned office-bearers. The members said that such an election should be conducted in accordance with the Constitution and applicable rules of the association, with the stated aim of maintaining transparency and restoring the confidence of the membership.
