Canara Bank Manager Physically Assaulted in Lalitpur UP

In a shocking incident in Lalitpur on Friday night, a group of goons attacked a bank manager and his friend on the road after they refused to pay extortion money. The manager’s cousin, who tried to stop the attack, was also assaulted and suffered a head injury. Three people were injured in the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Incident Details

The incident took place around 9:45 PM when Nikhil Sadaiya, a manager at Canara Bank and a resident of Mohalla Chaubeyana in Kotwali Sadar, was returning home from the market with his friend Bharat Soni. As they reached the Peelikothi Chaubeyana area, four men from the same locality stopped them. The men arrived in a Swift Dzire car and blocked their path.

The attackers accused Nikhil of earning a lot of money as a bank manager and demanded ₹5,000 from him, calling it “goonda tax.” When Nikhil refused to pay, the situation turned violent. The men pulled sticks from their car and started beating both Nikhil and his friend Bharat.

Cousin Injured While Intervening

During the attack, Nikhil’s cousin, Manish Sadaiya, who witnessed the commotion, rushed to intervene. However, the attackers turned on him as well, hitting him on the head and leaving him injured.

Attackers Flee After Threatening Victims

As other people in the area started gathering, the attackers fled the scene, threatening to kill the victims if they reported the incident. The injured were rushed to the medical college for treatment, where they are said to be recovering.

Police Action

Following the incident, Nikhil lodged a complaint with the police. Based on his statement, the police have registered a case and started an investigation against the accused. The attack has sparked concern among residents about rising cases of extortion and violence in the area. Authorities have assured strict action against the culprits.
