CBI Court Sentences Bank of Maharashtra Manager to 7 years Jail
Today, the CBI Court in Jaipur has convicted and sentenced three accused persons, including then Branch Manager, Bank of Maharashtra, Gopalpura Bypass Branch, Jaipur, Ram Bharose Meena, and two private persons, namely, Deep Ram Meena and Veer Singh Meena, in a bank fraud case.
The accused Ram Bharose Meena has been sentenced to Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for Seven Years with a fine of Rs. 2.60 Lakh, while Deep Ram Meena and Veer Singh Meena have been sentenced to Rigorous Imprisonment for Three Years with a fine of Rs. 25,000 each.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the case on 09.11.2016 on the complaint lodged by Bank of Maharashtra, Zonal office, Jaipur alleging therein that Ram Bharose Meena, then Branch Manager, in criminal conspiracy with the private persons namely Deep Ram Meena and Veer Singh Meena, illegally sanctioned loans in 17 accounts during 15.01.2015 to 06.05.2015, without valid applications, documents, or security, by abusing his official position and resorting to fraud and forgery, thereby causing a wrongful loss of Rs.3.61 Crore to the Bank.
After completion of investigation, the CBI filed chargesheet on 30.03.2019 against the above-mentioned three accused persons and charges against them were framed on 01.12.2021.
The Hon’ble Court, after the trial, convicted and sentenced the accused on 12.08.2026.
