A Bank of India officer has been brutally assaulted while performing his official duties at the Bagru Branch in Jaipur.
Deepak Gajraj, a Loan Officer at Bank of India’s Bagru Branch, had contacted a borrower on 4th August and asked him to deposit amount in his loan account. The account belonged to a female customer. On calling the customer, a man picked up the call and claimed to be her husband. He also refused to deposit the money in loan account.
The situation got escalated and he entered the branch premises along with some other persons, abused and threatened the loan officer. The loan borrower physically assaulted the bank staff, tore his clothes and forcibly prevented him from performing his official duties. The officer suffered severe injuries.
After the incident, AIBOC Rajasthan State Unit extended support to the officer and took up the matter with the police authorities. A delegation comprising AIBOC Rajasthan State Secretary Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, Senior Vice President Rajesh R Jain, Bank of India Officers’ Association State General Secretary Mahesh Meena, SBIOA Jaipur Circle Deputy General Secretary Saroj Mishra and Bank of India Officers’ Association State President Rameshwar Ola met the Police Commissioner of Jaipur and submitted a memorandum demanding stringent legal action.
An FIR bearing No. 0309/2026 has been registered at Police Station Bagru, Jaipur West, under Sections 132, 121(1), 352, 351(2), 3(5) and 333 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
AIBOC has demanded the immediate arrest of all persons involved, a fair and time-bound investigation and speedy filing of the charge sheet.
