The robber, wearing a helmet, entered the Prathama UP Gramin Bank branch near Pant Nagar around 11:40 am on Friday morning. He carried a sharp sickle typically used for cutting wheat. Without hesitation, he made his way directly to the cashier counter where he held Sweta Gaur, the bank cashier, at sickle-point and made off with 8.53 lakh rupees. After brandishing the sickle, he hastily fled the scene.

The robber had been inside the bank for 15 to 20 minutes prior to committing the crime. Khushboo Singh Bala, the bank manager, revealed that the perpetrator had been present inside the bank earlier, waiting for the opportune moment. When he noticed that all the customers had departed and the bank was quiet, he menacingly approached Sweta Gaur and executed the robbery.

Following the incident, the robber emerged from the bank and swiftly rode away on a motorcycle. The stolen amount totals approximately 8.53 lakh rupees. Bank officials are currently reconciling the deposited and stolen amounts.

SP Vineet Kumar Jaiswal assured that a comprehensive investigation is underway. The suspect will be apprehended promptly based on the evidence from the CCTV footage. The city police station, along with other police teams, is diligently working to expose the entire incident and bring the culprit to justice. The suspect’s swift arrest is of paramount importance. At present, the police teams are actively examining the CCTV footage, which captures the suspect riding away alone on a motorcycle.
