Punjab National Bank has ordered to open branches on Sunday – 27 September 2026, due to upcoming 3-day strike from 28 to 30 September 2026. The Government has ordered Banks to remain open for customer convenience. Punjab National Bank has ordered to open branches but there is a twist in it.
PNB has said that Over-the-counter services shall be provided to customers to the extent operationally feasible. Clearing transactions, retirement of Bills and negotiations under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 shall not be undertaken.
SLBCs and all field functionaries shall inform the local authorities well in advance regarding opening of branches on Sunday. All applicable provisions of the Shops & Establishments Act and other statutory requirements shall be strictly complied with.
