The Conciliation meeting between UFBU, Bank Management, Government and CLC will be held on 22 september 2026. Discussions will be held related to the proposed strike from 28 September to 30 September. The Bank Employees are demanding introduction of 5-day banking and cancellation of new PLI scheme.
Talks failed between UFBU and CLC. Strike will be conducted on 28, 29 and 30 September 2026.
The meeting started at 11.30 am.
Today Dy. CLC, Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India conducted conciliation meeting in his office in New Delhi. Representatives from IBA, DFS and Bank management were also present in the meeting.
UFBU stated that there was no response to their demand for implementation of 5 Days Banking which was agreed and signed in March, 2024 under the last wage revision settlement. Hence UFBU will go ahead with strike.
IBA informed that as demanded by the UFBU, the PLI scheme for scale IV officers and above has been kept in abeyance as per Government’s instructions and the same would be further discussed at the Bipartite level.
The issue of 5 days banking is under consideration by the Government and hence appealed to the UFBU to reconsider and defer the strike call in the interest of the banking public.
Representatives of the DFS, Ministry of Finance informed that the Government has taken many initiatives for the welfare of the bank employees and the issue of 5 Days Banking is also under consideration. Hence, they requested the UFBU to defer the strike and continue the dialogue.
Responding to the appeal made by the DFS, IBA, Bank managements to defer the strike, UFBU informed them that if there is any concrete and positive development towards implementation of demand for introduction of 5 days banking, UFBU will consider the same. Otherwise, UFBU will be constrained to go ahead with the proposed strike on 28th, 29th and 30th September, 2026.
