Finance Ministry Meeting with Chiefs of PSU Banks wrt strike announced by Bank Employees
The Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, had called an important meeting with MD&CEO of public sector banks, following the announcement of a three-day bank strike from September 28 to September 30, 2026 by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU).
In view of the proposed strike, the Department of Financial Services has scheduled a meeting under the chairmanship of the Secretary (Financial Services) on September 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The meeting will discuss steps required to ensure that banking operations and essential customer services continue during the strike period.
The meeting will be held with Chairman, State Bank of India, Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of all Nationalised Banks, Chief Executive of the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), Chairman of NABARD and Chairmen of all Regional Rural Banks (RRBs).
