AIPNBOF members will not open Bank in Sunday – 27 September 2026. All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Federation has advised its members not to attend office on Sunday, which is a holiday under NI Act.
AIPNBOF said that keeping in view the interest of customers and the need to ensure uninterrupted banking services, AIPNBOF had approached the concerned authorities seeking necessary clarification regarding statutory compliance, competent authority’s approval, compensatory holiday and other related issues arising out of the proposed Sunday working.
However, despite the various communications made to the concerned authorities, no response or clarification has been received by the Federation till date.
AIPNBOF said that in the absence of the requisite clarification and confirmation on these important statutory and service-related issues, the Federation is constrained to advise its members not to report for duty on Sunday, 27.09.2026, which is a public holiday under NI Act.
AIPNBOF said that – We sincerely regret that, despite our willingness to facilitate customer service and cooperate in ensuring smooth banking operations, the absence of any response to the legitimate issues raised by the Federation has left us with no reasonable basis to advise our cadres to attend duty on the said day.
