PM Modi’s Heartfelt Gesture: A Visit to Indian Dressing Room Offers Comfort After World Cup Final Defeat

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, present at the 2023 ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad on Sunday, visited the Indian dressing room at the Narendra Modi Stadium after the team’s tough loss to Australia.
On Monday, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and leading wicket-taker of the tournament, seamer Mohammed Shami, shared photos with PM Modi on social media from his post-match visit.
“Yesterday wasn’t our day. Thanks to all Indians for supporting us. Grateful to PM Narendra Modi for visiting the dressing room and boosting our spirits. We’ll bounce back!” wrote Shami, who claimed 24 wickets in seven outings and became India’s top wicket-taker in ODI World Cup history.
“Although we fell short yesterday, we had a great tournament. The support of our people is keeping us going. PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the dressing room was special and very motivating,” shared Jadeja.
PM Modi, alongside Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, also presented the World Cup trophy to the Australian skipper Pat Cummins in the post-final ceremony.
