AIPNBOF GS requests Bankers not to work on Sunday

AIPNBOF GS Shri Krishna Kumar has requested UFBU to take a common stand on RBI direction to open branches/ offices on Sunday on IBA request.

He has requested Bank employees not to open branches and offices on Sunday under any circumstances. He has also requester UFBU to legally examine RBI power to open branches on Sunday which is a holiday under NI ACT.

Recently, the Government of India has ordered Banks to remain open on Sunday – 27 September 2026, due to upcoming Strike from 28 to 30 September 2026.

The RBI has also granted approval to banks to remain open on Sunday. The Government has also published a press release and informed customers that banks will remain open on Sunday.
