Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: On Tuesday evening, a bank manager of Union Bank of India was attacked by a loan borrower and his associates. The manager suffered a nose injury and suffered from bleeding. The manager had gone to the residence of the loan borrower to recover the loan EMI.
The manager alleged that the attackers also stole 16,000 rupees he had with him. A video of the incident surfaced on Wednesday. The Cantonment Police Station has registered a case based on the complaint and launched a search for the accused.
According to the police, Satish Agarwal, a resident of Sadar Street No. 9, had taken a gold loan by pledging gold at the Union Bank of India’s Sadar branch. He was not depositing the loan EMIs. The bank sent several notices and messages, but the payment remained unpaid.
On Tuesday evening, bank manager Manish Sangya arrived at Satish’s house to deliver a notice for loan recovery. When he discussed the non-payment of installments, an argument broke out between the two. It is alleged that as the dispute escalated, Satish and his associates began assaulting the manager.
According to the manager, the accused attacked his face, injuring his nose, which caused bleeding. He also alleged that Satish and his accomplices robbed 16,000 rupees he had with him during the incident. After the incident, he managed to reach the Cantt police station and filed a complaint.
Upon learning of the attack on the bank manager, bank employees also reached the Cantt police station and demanded action against the accused.
A team of bank officials also met with the Superintendent of Police on Wednesday. The police investigation is ongoing and more details will be released soon.
