The registration process for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2024 has started and Pilgrims can register online or offline at authorized bank branches. Offline registration can be done at various branches of SBI, Punjab National Bank (PNB), Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and Yes Bank across the country.
The bank employees, who were already under a lot of pressure at work, now have the added task of registering people for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2024. Because of this, there were large crowds of devotees waiting outside the J&K Bank from early morning. As the day went on, things got chaotic as devotees started pushing and shoving to get into the bank.

To manage the situation, the bank’s security guard had to close the main gate and implement a token system from inside. In the first phase, the bank gave tokens to 40 people who were waiting in line. However, despite this effort, the situation continued to worsen.
Due to the escalating situation, the bank employees called the local police for assistance. The police arrived and tried to convince the devotees that they would only be allowed entry through the token system after waiting in line. They made it clear that those who joined the crowd would not be given tokens.
Devotees who had been waiting in queues for four to five hours expressed their anger because the online registration service had stopped working. Despite waiting since morning, they were not being allowed inside. Some devotees complained that the bank employees were prioritizing their acquaintances and mistreating the general public.
