A case of fraud of Rs 11 lakh has been registered against three people, including the then branch manager of Bank of Baroda located in Sawaijpur. A customer has been defrauded on the pretext of online business.
Sarit Kumar, a resident of Kanikapur Ubariya, Pali police station area, told the police in his complaint that Sumit Raju, a resident of Sasnagar, Punjab, was posted as a manager in the Bank of Baroda, Swayajpur.
On January 19, 2018, he had opened his OD account in the bank saying that he would be involved in online business. He was called in a meeting in September 2018 and asked to deposit the money. It is alleged that in October, Sumit Raju had transferred Rs 3 lakh to the account of his wife Priyanka Chaudhary.
According to Sarit, in May 2019, the bank manager formed a firm in his mother’s name and got the file for limit loan and machine loan prepared. Referring to online business, six and a half lakh rupees were sent to the account and three lakh rupees were withdrawn by the manager on the same day.
The bank manager deposited Rs 80 thousand in the account of his mother Kamaljeet Kaur and in August 2020, he also deposited Rs 30 thousand in the account of his father Kuldeep Singh.
The bank employees told him that he had been cheated of Rs 11 lakh. On this he contacted Sumit Raju and came to know that he had left the job and gone back to Punjab.
On December 18, when Sumit asked for the money back, he refused. Inspector-in-charge AK Rai said that a report has been registered on the basis of the complaint. There is a case of fraud of Rs 11 lakh.

Bank without Ethics…The top management has least commitment to customer service. Their Bob world is a massive fraud which they are trying to hide even after RBI penalised. As long as the top management do not follow the principles of Ethics what can you expect. And MoF is silent.
