SBI revises charges for BSBDA accounts from 1st October
The State Bank of India (SBI) will revise charges for cash withdrawals from Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts (BSBD) operated through the branch channel from October 1, 2026.
A Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA) is a zero-balance savings account introduced by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to promote financial inclusion.
Four cash withdrawals in a month will remain free. For withdrawals beyond the first four in a month, SBI will levy a charge of ₹15 per transaction, plus applicable GST.
The revised charges apply to Basic Savings Deposit Account (Branch Channel), Product Code 1011-1701. The new charges will come into effect from October 1, 2026.
As per SBI, customers will get four cash withdrawals free in a month from the BSBD account through the branch channel. Any cash withdrawal beyond these four free transactions will attract a ₹15 charge per transaction, plus GST.
For example, if an account holder makes six cash withdrawals through the branch in a month, the first four withdrawals will not attract this charge. The fifth and sixth withdrawals will each attract ₹15 plus GST.
