AIPNBOA Office Bearers in Aligarh marked Absent by Circle Head
The PNB Bank Management in Aligarh rejected leaves of the office bearers of AIPNBOA. Not only the office bearers were marked absent, but explanation letter was also issued.
This has led to a fight between the bank management and the majority bank union.
Bankers say if office bearers can be marked absent and can be issued explanation letter, then what will happen to other staff.
The association said that its office bearers had applied on August 10 for one day’s leave on August 13 to participate in and facilitate the “Har Ghar Tiranga” initiative.
The programme was linked to Independence Day celebrations and aimed at encouraging people and organisations to display the National Flag and promote national unity and patriotism.
The leave applications remained pending for three days and were rejected only on the morning of August 13, the same day for which the leave had been requested.
AIPNBOA said that if the leave applications were not acceptable for administrative reasons, the decision could have been communicated on August 10, 11 or 12.
The association has highlighted another important point in its representation. It said that on the evening of August 13, the AIPNBOA Aligarh Unit visited the Circle Office, Aligarh, and participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” and Independence Day programme along with the Circle Head.
The association said photographs and other documentary evidence of the programme are available. It said that if Circle Head participated in the event, then why office bearers were marked absent. Explanation notices were issued to office bearers on the evening of August 14.
The association has written a letter to the Zonal Manager to examine the complete sequence of events, including the leave applications, their rejection, participation in the programme and the subsequent explanation notices.
The association has asked that no coercive or adverse action be taken against the concerned officers while the matter is being examined.
