On November 5, the Madhya Pradesh government approved an increase in the job reservation quota for women, raising it from 33% to 35%. This decision, aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, was confirmed by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla after a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

The cabinet also approved several other key measures. Among them, the establishment of 254 new fertilizer sales centers aims to simplify fertilizer access for farmers, reducing wait times. Additionally, the state approved a 660 MW critical thermal power plant in Sarni, replacing outdated units with a total capacity of 830 MW. This new facility is expected to enhance power supply efficiency in the region.

In another significant move, the government extended the recruitment age limit for assistant professors in medical colleges from 40 to 50 years, aiming to widen opportunities for candidates in the state’s medical education sector.

These measures reflect the government’s commitment to supporting economic growth, energy infrastructure, and gender inclusivity in Madhya Pradesh.
