Ganesh Negi, 42, a branch manager at the Dhumakot branch of SBI in Uttarakhand, has committed suicide. He was living in a rented room where he hanged himself with a rope. His family lives in Meerut, while his in-laws live in Kotdwar.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the family left for Dhumakot. It is reported that he was worried about his posting in a remote area. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and began investigating the matter.
Family members had been calling Ganesh since Wednesday, but he hadn’t answered the phone. On Thursday morning, his father called a bank employee and asked him to go to Ganesh’s room and speak to him.When the employee arrived at the room, the door was open.
Inside, Ganesh’s body was found hanging from a rope in the kitchen. Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene, took down the body, and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Ganesh Singh Negi had recently joined as manager of the Dhumakot branch. He was previously posted in Meerut and had recently been transferred to Dhumakot. Police are investigating the matter. More details will be released soon.
