Post Offices in India may soon get 5-day work week as per letters shared on social media. As per the letters shared on internet, the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India may consider the demand of post office employees for 5-day work week.

Post offices in India currently operate on a 6-day work week, though a transition to a 5-day schedule is under discussion.

Current Working Days

• Monday to Saturday: Standard operative and delivery post offices remain open.
• Saturdays: Many branches offer limited hours for counter and financial services, while administrative offices remain closed.
• Sundays: Completely closed for regular public operations.
