RBI Announces Inter-Bank Hindi Essay Competition for 2025–26, Participate and Win Prize

Mumbai, May 31, 2025 – The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited entries for its annual Inter-Bank Hindi Essay Competition for the year 2025–26, with the aim of promoting original writing in Hindi on topics related to economics, finance, banking, and issues of general interest.

This year’s essay topic is:
“टैरिफ, विश्व व्यापार और भारत” (Tariffs, Global Trade, and India)

Who Can Participate

The competition is open to all officers and staff members of:

  • Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
  • Public Sector Banks
  • Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) sponsored by Public Sector Banks

However, Rajbhasha Officers and Translators are not eligible to participate.

Submission Deadline

Participants must submit their essays in Hindi on the given topic by Friday, June 20, 2025.

Prizes

Winners from each language group will receive the following cash prizes:

  • First Prize: ₹14,000
  • Second Prize: ₹10,000
  • Third Prize: ₹8,000
  • Two Consolation Prizes: ₹3,000 each

Guidelines and Requirements

  • Detailed rules and the list of language groups are available in Annex ‘A’.
  • A certificate, as per the format provided in Annex ‘B’, must be submitted along with each entry by participating employees.

Bank Participation

All Public Sector Banks and their sponsored RRBs have been asked to circulate this information widely among their employees to encourage maximum participation.

Through this competition, the RBI aims to strengthen the use of Hindi in banking communication and inspire employees to share their perspectives on key economic topics in the national language.

  1. Considering the recent attacks on PSB Officers for speaking in HINDI & NOT the Local Language, this Inter-Bank Hindi Essay is meaningless. More so, as the Bank Management’s & RBI did not support either OFFICIAL LANGUAGE HINDI nor the Officials. We respect all Local languages, but expecting Bankers to Learn them all is ridiculous.
