The Female Officers in Union Bank of India have not yet received Transfer Orders. This is causing a significant delay in transfers and posting and has raised concerns.

The All India Union Bank Officer Staff Association (AIUBOSA) has written a letter to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank of India, urging the bank to issue pending transfer orders for female officers under the Annual Transfer Exercise (ATE) for the year 2025-26.

The letter, sent by General Secretary D.S. Ganesan, highlights that although the bank is already halfway through the transfer process for this cycle, many female officers are still waiting for their transfer orders. These officers have applied for transfers under various grounds, including:

  1. Spouse Joining Grounds – Many female officers have requested transfers to locations where their spouses are already working. This is a common and valid reason under the bank’s transfer policies, aimed at supporting family life.
  2. Medical Grounds – Some officers have applied for transfers due to serious health issues affecting themselves or their dependent family members. These requests are critical and are usually given priority.
  3. Repatriation of Promotees – Female officers who were promoted in 2022 or earlier and are eligible to return to their original or preferred locations have also not yet received their orders.

The association stressed that these officers are managing both work and family responsibilities and deserve timely support from the bank. It was also mentioned that Union Bank of India has been promoting various initiatives like ‘Empower HER’, showing its commitment to supporting and encouraging female employees.

“We are proud to have a female leader at the institutional level,” wrote Mr. Ganesan. “The bank must also reflect this leadership by ensuring that eligible female officers are not left waiting endlessly for their transfers.”

The association has requested that the bank act quickly and issue the pending transfer orders through the internal system, Union Parivar, so that these officers can plan their lives better.
