Sitting Fees paid to Directors of SBI
The Whole Time Directors and Non-Executive Directors who are officers of the Central Government or the Reserve Bank of India do not receive any sitting fees for attending Board or Board-level Committee meetings. However, Non-Executive Non-Official Directors are paid sitting fees for attending these meetings. They do not receive any remuneration other than the sitting fees.
The amount of sitting fees is determined according to Government of India guidelines and is approved by the Central Board of the Bank.
During the year, up to November 3, 2025, Non-Executive Non-Official Directors were paid ₹70,000 for each Central Board meeting attended and ₹30,000 for each Board-level Committee meeting attended. From November 4, 2025, the sitting fees was revised to ₹50,000 for each Board-level Committee meeting attended and ₹1,00,000 for each Central Board meeting.
