Performance of SBI as of 31 March 2026
➡️ Bank’s balance sheet crossed ₹76 lakh crore during the year, while total business surpassed ₹109 lakh crore.
➡️ Deposits of SBI grew by 11.03% to ₹59.76 lakh crore.
➡️ CASA deposits which grew by 9.53% to ₹22.62 lakh crore. CASA ratio stood at 39.46% as of March 2026.
➡️ Bank’s advances registered a strong growth of 16.87% to ₹49.33 lakh crore.
➡️ Retail advances of SBI crossed the milestone of ₹17 lakh crore during the year. Housing loan portfolio is steadily approaching ₹10 lakh crore.
➡️ Agriculture lending crossed ₹4 lakh crore, the highest for any bank in India.
➡️ SBI SME portfolio crossed ₹6 lakh crore.
➡️ Corporate portfolio clocked double digit growth reaching over ₹14 lakh crore.
➡️ Bank’s total investment book increased to ₹18.09 lakh crore, as of March 2026, of which 95.48% are domestic investments. 73.95% of the domestic investments are under HTM category. The yield on investments was 7.01%.
➡️ Standalone operating profit touched ₹1.23 lakh crore, with a YoY growth of 11.25%, while standalone net profit grew by 12.88% to ₹80,032 crore. Net Interest Income (NII) of SBI grew by 4.08% to ₹1.73 lakh crore in FY 2026, while the cost-to-income ratio improved further to 50.11% from 51.64% last year.
➡️ Return on Assets (RoA) improved to 1.12% in FY 2026, against 1.10% for FY 2025. Return on Equity (RoE) at 18.57% for FY 2026.
➡️ The Central Board of SBI has declared a dividend of ₹17.35 per equity share for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
➡️ Bank successfully raised ₹25,000 crore of equity capital through Qualified Institutional Placement, strengthening our Tier-I capital base and enhancing our ability to support future growth.
➡️ CET-1 ratio improved substantially, registering the highest ever level of 12.29% and the overall Capital Adequacy Ratio at 15.40% remained comfortably above regulatory requirement.
➡️ Gross NPA declined to 1.49%, recording an improvement of 33 bps (YoY), while Net NPA at 0.39% improved by 8 bps YoY. The slippage ratio was contained at 0.54% and the Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) stood at 74.36% without AUCA and 99.01% with AUCA as of March 2026.
➡️ SBI serves over 53 crore customers through an extensive network of more than 23,000 branches, over 65,000 ATMs, digital channels, and nearly 80,000 customer service points (CSPs).
➡️ Incognito visits were conducted to ~4,000 branches and external agency rated it at 3.62 out of 4 and 6.74 out of 7, respectively for FY 2026.
➡️ In FY 2026, the Bank spent over ₹700 crore on CSR, through 1,529 activities undertaken across India covering 20,000 villages.
➡️ As on March 2026, SBI had 26 subsidiaries operating across diverse business lines.
➡️ SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited is the No. 2 player in Cards and No. 3 in Spends.
➡️ SBI has sponsored nine regional rural banks (RRBs) across nine states.
➡️ The net profit of SBI Group, combining all the subsidiaries reached ₹83,299 crore, increasing by 7.40% over the previous year.
