In a statement, the Election Commission stated that with the ongoing general elections in 2024, they are on track to achieve the highest-ever recorded seizures of inducements in the 75-year history of Lok Sabha elections in the country.

The Election Commission explained that flying squads, statistical surveillance teams, video viewing teams, and border checkposts are tirelessly working round-the-clock to make these seizures possible.
Preventing movement and distribution of prohibited items
In addition to the seizures, the Election Commission is also taking steps to ensure that there is no movement or distribution of cash, liquor, freebies, drugs, and narcotics during the elections.
Election schedule and result announcement
The Lok Sabha elections will be conducted in seven phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. The results of the elections are expected to be announced on June 4.
