In a pivotal address at the Kalyan Janata Sahakari Bank’s golden jubilee gala on Saturday, Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), championed the cause of financial inclusion. He asserted that banks hold a fundamental responsibility: to proactively identify the needs of society’s most vulnerable sections and empower them through tailored financial assistance.
“The prosperity of the weaker sections is the very bedrock on which banks stand,” Bhagwat declared. He urged financial institutions to prioritize social development alongside economic metrics, emphasizing that true success lies in fostering inclusive prosperity.
He reiterated the need for banks to actively seek out the specific needs of marginalized communities, not passively await their requests. “Empowering them through targeted financial solutions is not just a noble pursuit, but also a strategic investment in the bank’s own future,” Bhagwat stated.
He lauded the golden jubilee as a milestone, but also as a springboard for greater dynamism. “This anniversary marks not just a glorious past, but an exciting call to action,” Bhagwat said, urging the bank to embrace innovative approaches and propel itself towards a future defined by even greater service to the community.
