A robbery attempt took place on Thursday night at the Bank of India branch in Mehtgaon, which is about 13 kilometers from Sendhwa city. The thieves, who are still unidentified, managed to break into the bank by making a hole in the wall. Once inside, they tried to open the bank’s safe, but they weren’t successful.

While trying to break into the safe, the bank’s alarm system went off, alerting anyone nearby. In response, the robbers quickly cut the wires to the alarm, stopping the siren from sounding. Despite their efforts, the thieves could not access the safe. Realizing they were unsuccessful, they fled the scene.

The bank officials were notified about the attempted robbery early the next morning. At around 6:30 AM, they arrived at the bank and immediately contacted the police. While the officials did not provide an official statement due to internal rules, sources suggest that the bank had around four to five lakh rupees in cash at the time of the incident.

The police have opened an investigation and registered a case against the unknown suspects. The authorities are working on identifying the criminals responsible for this attempted robbery.
