Madhubani, Bihar: Thieves looted an ATM in Jhanjharpur on Sunday night. They cut open the IDBI Bank ATM at Langra Chowk with a gas cutter and withdrew ₹3,08,000. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. Police are trying to identify the thieves based on the CCTV footage.
Jhanjharpur is a town and a sub-division in the Madhubani district of the state of Bihar, India.
It is reported that the thieves entered the ATM around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday night. Using a gas cutter, they cut open the cash compartment of the machine and looted the money.
When the bank staff arrived at the ATM on Monday morning, he was shocked to find the machine damaged. The cash compartment had been cut with a gas cutter. Upon inspection, he discovered that ₹3.08 lakh had been stolen from the ATM. Police were immediately informed.
Following the incident, police examined CCTV footage from the ATM and nearby locations. These footage captured the thieves’ activities during the night. Based on the footage, police are attempting to identify and arrest them.
