Rahul Gandhi’s Bank Account Balance and Investment Details

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is vying for re-election from Kerala’s Wayanad constituency, has disclosed his financial assets in his election affidavit. According to the affidavit, Gandhi currently holds Rs 55,000 in cash, has stock market investments valued at Rs 4.3 crore, mutual fund deposits amounting to Rs 3.81 crore, and Rs 26.25 lakh in a bank account.

Recently, the bank accounts of the Congress party in India have been frozen by the Income Tax Department due to an outstanding tax demand.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, Gandhi reported an income of Rs 1.02 crore. This income was derived from various sources, including his salary as the Wayanad MP, bank interest, dividends, bonds, and royalties. Additionally, he owns immovable properties worth Rs 11.15 crore, which include commercial buildings and agricultural and non-agricultural land.

Gandhi also possesses gold bonds valued at Rs 15.2 lakh and has invested in insurance policies, National Savings Schemes, Postal Savings, and other avenues, totaling Rs 61.52 lakh.

When it comes to his stock investments, Gandhi has diversified his portfolio, with holdings in companies such as Titan, TCS, Nestle India, Alkyl Amines Chemicals Ltd, Asian Paints, Deepak Nitric, HUL, ICICI, Info Edge, and others. In terms of mutual funds, his major investments are in ICICI Prudential Reg Savings-G, PPFAS FCF D-growth, HDFC Hybrid Debt Fund-G, and others.

Gandhi will face a tough battle in the Lok Sabha elections against CPI leader Annie Raja, the wife of party General Secretary D. Raja, as well as BJP state President K. Surendran. In the previous elections held in 2019, Gandhi emerged victorious with a significant margin of 4.31 lakh votes, making it the highest victory margin in the state.

The people of Kerala will head to the polls on April 26 for the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, where they will elect all 20 Members of Parliament representing the state. General elections will be held in India from 19 April 2024 to 1 June 2024 to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The elections will be held in seven phases and the results will be announced on 4 June 2024.
