Ramwan Panthuwa resident Basantlal Yadav found himself embroiled in a shocking case of identity theft and loan fraud. Following his father Shripal Yadav’s death a year ago, Basantlal and his brother Santlal inherited their ancestral land. When Basantlal visited the Cooperative Gram Vikas Bank branch on ITI Road for a loan inquiry, a startling discovery came to light. His deceased father, Shripal, was already listed as having taken a loan on the very same land!
Further investigation revealed the culprit: a villager named Shripal Raidas had fraudulently acquired a loan using Basantlal’s father’s identity. Compounding the problem, the bank employees had neglected to verify Shripal Raidas’ information during the loan process.
Outraged by this brazen act of betrayal, Basantlal approached the police. However, his initial pleas for action fell on deaf ears. Undeterred, Basantlal took matters to court. His persistence paid off, and prompted by a court order, Radhanagar police finally registered a case of fraud against Shripal Raidas and the negligent bank employees of the Sahakari Gram Vikas Bank branch.
