A young aspiring doctor, Dr. A J Shahna, sadly lost her life at 28 after facing challenges in her relationship with Dr. E A Ruwise. The distressing situation arose when Dr. Ruwise allegedly demanded a significant dowry, leading Shahna to overdose on anesthesia.

Dr. Ruwise, a doctor in Thiruvananthapuram, was arrested on charges of contributing to Shahna’s suicide. Authorities suspended him from his medical duties, and his academic registration may be canceled if found guilty of seeking dowry.
