RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat announced on Tuesday that the idol of Lord Ram will be installed at the Ayodhya temple on January 22. He also urged Indians to organize celebrations at temples across the country on that day.

Speaking at the annual RSS Dussehra rally in Nagpur, Bhagwat said that the world is looking to India to overcome its problems. He also performed the “Shastra Pooja”, a traditional Hindu ritual involving the worship of weapons.

“A temple of Lord Ram is being built in Ayodhya… Lord Ram’s idol will be installed at the temple on January 22. On that day, we can organize celebrations at our own temples in the whole country,” Bhagwat said.

On the upcoming G20 Summit, which will be hosted by India in September, Bhagwat said that delegates at the summit will experience India’s unity in diversity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also extended their greetings to the nation on Dussehra. Modi wrote on social media that the festival brings the message of ending negative forces and adopting goodness in life. Shah said that Dussehra is a festival that inspires and teaches us to always follow the path of wisdom and truth.
