Haryana declares Holiday on 1st November, All Govt Offices will remain closed

The Haryana Government has announced that Diwali will now be a holiday on Thursday, 31st October 2024, instead of Friday, 1st November 2024, as previously planned. This change was made in an official order from the Chief Secretary. The new holiday date, 31st October, will be observed by all government departments, boards, corporations, schools, and other institutions in the state.

The order also explains that this holiday on 31st October for Diwali will be recognized under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, which means it will be treated as an official public holiday for legal and business purposes.
