Fire Breaks Out in Bank of Baroda in Abohar

On Friday, June 14, 2024, a sudden fire broke out in the Bank of Baroda located near Hanumangarh Road Overbridge in Abohar, causing panic among the nearby residents. Immediate action was taken to control the fire, preventing a potential major accident.

Quick Response and Fire Control

Upon noticing smoke coming out of the bank at around 8 am, a person who had set up a vegetable cart nearby promptly informed both the fire brigade and the bank employees. The bank employees swiftly reached the scene and opened the bank’s gates, while the fire brigade team arrived and battled the fire with great effort.

Damage and Potential Cause

The bank officer who arrived at the scene reported that certain areas of the bank, such as the cabin, printer, and AC, were severely damaged by the fire. However, the safe room remained unaffected. Unfortunately, some bank records were burnt in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but it is suspected to be a result of a short circuit.

Repairs and Customer Cooperation

The bank officer, Kamal Kumar, stated that the repair work is estimated to take about a week. During this time, customers are kindly requested to cooperate with the bank. Despite the damage, the bank’s safe room remains secure, ensuring the safety of customers’ assets.

The prompt response and coordination between the bank employees and the fire brigade prevented a potential disaster. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for vigilance in preventing such incidents.
