Axis Bank Appoints Rajeev Mantri as New Chief Financial Officer
Axis Bank has announced the appointment of Rajeev Mantri as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP). The decision was approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors during its meeting held on 18 July 2026. Rajeev Mantri will officially take charge as CFO from 28 September 2026. This appointment follows the resignation of the previous CFO, Puneet Sharma, which was announced by the bank on 29 June 2026.

Board Approval
The appointment was recommended by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the Audit Committee before being approved by the Board. Axis Bank stated that Rajeev Mantri meets all the qualifications and conditions prescribed by the Reserve Bank of India under the Commercial Banks – Governance Directions, 2025, for the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer.
Effective Date of Appointment
Rajeev Mantri will assume the role of CFO on 28 September 2026. He has been appointed on a full-time employment basis.
About Rajeev Mantri
Rajeev Mantri is 49 years old and has nearly 30 years of experience in banking, financial services, credit information, consumer goods, and international financial institutions. Before joining Axis Bank, he served as Executive President and CFO at Bandhan Bank, where he led finance, strategy, accounting, reporting, capital management, tax, procurement, payments, and investor relations.
During his career, he has worked with leading financial institutions such as Citibank, Standard Chartered, and Mashreq across India, Singapore, and the UAE. He is a Chartered Accountant from ICAI and also holds a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD Business School, Singapore. He is known for his expertise in finance, strategy, governance, and business transformation.
