The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a major revision in staff welfare benefits, employee perquisites, and allowances, offering higher reimbursement limits and improved facilities for officers and employees across all grades.

The revised package includes increases in medical reimbursement, meal coupons, education allowance, communication allowance, household help allowance, driver reimbursement, knowledge updation allowance, mobile phone facility, equipment maintenance allowance, official entertainment allowance, leave fare concession (LFC), travel allowance, air travel entitlement, furnishing of residence (FRO/FRE), attendant-cum-cook allowance, spectacles reimbursement, and several other employee benefits.

The FRO/FRE Scheme is meant to meet the cost of furnishing the residence of officers and employees. The following perquisites/allowances have been merged into the Furnishing of Residence of Officers/Employees (FRO/FRE) Scheme:

1. Reimbursement towards the cost of air conditioner for Officers in Grade E and F, and provision of air conditioners at residence by the Bank for Officers in Grade F.
2. Facility of PC with data-cum-fax modem at the residence for Officers in Grade F (₹1.69 lakh Scheme).
3. Reimbursement towards the cost of e-book reader for Officers in Grade F.
4. Briefcase allowance for all employees in Class III/IV and Officers in Grade A to F.
