Consumer Court orders to deduct Rs.10,000 from salary of Bank of Baroda Manager

Sambhal: The District Consumer Commission has ordered a deduction of ten thousand rupees from the salaries of the bank manager and senior manager. This order was issued in response to a complaint filed by Raju, also known as Surya Prakash, a resident of Bahjoi.Raju holds a savings account at the Bank of Baroda branch office in Bahjoi.

On December 29, 2017, he applied for a fixed deposit of one lakh for his daughter Tinkle Varshney’s future. The then managers provided a certificate of deposit (stating a deposited amount of 120,448 rupees) and were approached on January 27, 2023, for withdrawal.

The request for payment was denied, leading to the case reaching the Consumer Commission through lawyer Lav Varshney.Following the hearing, a debate arose over the payment of the fixed deposit amount according to the rules. Several discrepancies were revealed.

Lav Mohan Varshney mentioned that the Consumer Commission ordered the main general manager of the Bank of Baroda to deduct ten thousand rupees from the salaries of the managers involved and compensate the complainant within two months. Additionally, an order for five thousand rupees as compensation was also given.
