
Navneet Mishra, branch manager of Baroda UP Bank branch Kanchanpur of Tarkulwa police station area, was arrested by the Lucknow CBI team on Wednesday for taking bribe. This demand for bribe was made in return for passing the loan.
The matter was settled at Rs 12 thousand. CBI has also arrested agent Rahul who arranged the transaction with the bank manager. Mahesh Sharma of Mishrauli village of Tarkulwa police station area had complained to the Lucknow branch of CBI regarding bribe demand for passing loan.
He had alleged that a bribe of Rs 12,000 was being demanded from him for the loan. For not paying the bribe amount, he was being harassed and made to run to the bank branch again and again. Taking cognizance of this complaint, the CBI Lucknow team came and camped in Gorakhpur on Tuesday evening. The team Reached Kanchanpur intersection at 1 pm on Wednesday.
The team members called the complainant and handed over Rs 12,000 in which notes were marked with chemical. When the complainant handed over the notes to the branch manager, CBI Inspector Sarvjit Chauhan’s team caught the branch manager Navneet Mishra and agent Rahul red handed who were roaming inside the bank. When the team members recovered the chemical-stained note and washed their hands, the matter turned out to be true.
The team members interrogated continuously for three hours and collected necessary data from the computer. After this, after taking all the legal actions, the team left for Lucknow along with arrested branch manager Navneet Mishra and broker Rahul with her. CBI Inspector Sarvjit Chauhan said that the branch manager and a broker have been arrested for taking bribe. Both the people are being taken to Lucknow, where after legal action they will be sent to jail.
