An SBI bank employee has been implicated in passing information about the theft of donation at the Ram Temple to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
The State Bank of India employee was questioned during a police and Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation. The issue of donation theft was first raised by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on 7th June via an internet post.
Since the incident came to light, the police and the trust have been particularly focused on how information about the theft reached the outside world without their knowledge.
During the investigation, the police have uncovered crucial evidence regarding the information reaching the SP chief. During the investigation, the police questioned and recorded statements of former and current employees involved in the counting of cash received at the temple.
Based on the findings of the interrogation of two employees, the police have established a link through which information regarding the donation theft was passed to Akhilesh.
This aspect came to the forefront of the investigation when, approximately a month after the theft, some details regarding conversations between trust officials became public. The police have recorded statements from all SBI employees.
Three of these bank employees were questioned in detail. Police are investigating when the bank employee provided this information to trust officials.
The new Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Shri Ram Temple theft case has submitted its status report to the Supreme Court on Monday.
